Here, the Vessel series began.

If ⟨Digging⟩ was a process of emptying out the inside, the sculptures that followed developed in the opposite direction, toward filling it in. Through a process of building—or stuffing—I returned to the relationship between form, material, and content. Is it possible for form not to rigidly constrain material, while material, in turn, neither renders form powerless nor becomes something consumed as a mythologized nature? To move beyond such a one-sided division, I imagined a sculptural approach in which different things collide, push against one another, and intersect intermittently. The Vessel series began out of this movement.
I experimented with transparent tubes that reveal what passes through them, while forming crooked structures freed from hierarchy and uprightness—curves inflected with humor and distortion. Their appearance may be mistaken for a phallic form, but that appearance is not itself their meaning. Expanding into associations with earthworms, snakes, blood vessels, hair, and organs without settling into any one of them, I moved from performer to maker of sculpture, while traces of myself were absorbed into materials in which they were no longer visible.
The soil dug up in ⟨Digging⟩, bodily byproducts, medication, and other remnants were mixed with resin and flowed into the hoses. As traces of myself and others collided or were juxtaposed within the sculptural form, I sought to reflect on the space between given conditions and chosen elements. This was both a critical sculptural experiment of swallowing and pushing away, repeatedly moving between identification and separation, and a narrative of construction routed through the body.
